On November 25, 2020, the annual international campaign known as the, “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” begins and continues until December 10, 2020. This year the campaign theme is: “Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!”. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, many countries report an increase in violence against women. In Canada, many women identify not feeling safe in their own home. As more restrictions are put into place to slow the spread of COVID-19, more women are experiencing an increased risk for violence. As a community, we have a responsibility to take action and end gender-based violence. During the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – what are you doing to create change and make our communities and homes safer?
