Gender-Based Violence Workplace Training and Education

In addition to providing youth-focused training, MentorAction also offers preventative training for your workplace! From offering circles of discussion to comprehensive presentations, MentorAction workplace trainings work to promote equitable relationships and safer workplaces.

By cultivating a shared learning space for participants to develop a common understanding of their respective responsibilities to prevent gender-based violence, new and lasting workplace approaches emerge. Training sessions are flexible and customized to meet the specific needs of your workplace.

Our Workplace Programs

Building a Violence-free and Equitable Workplace

90-minute training – Designed for employees and apprentices on the frontlines of the workplace. Delivered in a group setting, employees learn basic gender-based violence principles and practical tools so they are better equipped to build a positive and equitable workplace culture.

4-hour training – Effective leadership hinges on the ability to coach, mentor and guide your workplace members. Created for health and safety representatives, union and shop stewards, supervisors, or employees directly overseeing teams this level of training will give leaders the knowledge they need to effectively build a violence-free workplace.

8-hour training – Workplace culture and safety start at the top. Organizational leadership is critical in shaping workplaces that are free from violence. Senior leadership teams will benefit from a full day of training that examines how gender-based violence impacts their workplaces and strategies to mitigate harm. Leaders are better equipped to guide policy and improve employee recruitment and retention after a full-day of interactive gender-based violence prevention training.

Train The Trainer (TTT)

Our Train-the-Trainer model builds your workplace’s training capacity through peer-to-peer learning. Our educators will provide comprehensive training that will upskill your
employees to lead with consistency within your workplace. Internally trained employees are best positioned to mentor fellow employees because they understand your workplace culture and the potential challenges your workplace may encounter. Trained
leaders can deliver training that is focused on specific workplace needs and possess the power to change attitudes, beliefs and behaviours. Our Train-the-Trainer approach is a powerful tool that helps everyone in a workplace create a positive work culture.

Make a positive change in your workplace by equipping key employees to be agents of change, leaders, and mentors to their peers.
